Well, effectively, given today's FIA decision to revoke all of McLaren's constructor points, and disallow them from scoring any more points this year. Congratulations Ferrari.
How the WMSC can penalize the drivers is absolute blasphemy. I'm looking forward to reading the transcripts to determine whether or not McLaren justly argued that they never used the information in such a way as to provide a competitive advantage. If thats true, shame on F1.
Check out Ron Dennis' statement on the McLaren website. Note that the drivers, per se, are not being penalized, only the team. Driver's championship points are not altered in any way by today's judgment.
I see, well thats good to hear. I misinterpreted the statement, "and the team can score no points for the remainder of the season" to mean drivers points as well.
$100M will have a big hit on McLaren's balance sheet!
