OK, so we've been slacking. As mike hinted earlier - the USGP will not be on the 2008 schedule! I have mixed emotions about this one. It hurts to see F1 removed from America, but damn it feels good for someone to stick it to Tony George.
Sadly, I'm not sure America has another venue with the facilities to host another F1 race anytime soon. If anyone out there reading this is filthy loaded and looking for a new benefactor in their will, please consider 'The Glen'.

I believe that Bernie is looking to organize a street race somewhere in America. He's a damn fool if he thinks that he doesn't need the American market. Sure, you don't NEED the American dollar (especially given how weak the $ is in comparison to European currencies), but you don't NEED $4 billion dollars (Bernie's estimated net worth).
I think there may be some possibility of a street race in Las Vegas, like the one which started this year's Champ Car season. F1 raced near Caesar's Palace in the eighties (with one race being won by a Chevrolet powered McLaren!). USGP have also been held in Sebring, Long Beach, Riverside (CA), Detroit, Phoenix, and of course, Watkins Glen and Indianapolis.
I welcome the removal of the Indy F1 race. The races were consistently dull and has had many infamous "black" races (Michelin debacle in 2004, Ferrari team orders fiasco). Even if it takes a couple of years, I look forward to a new take on F1 in the USA.
oops, the Michelin debacle was in 2005
